This song will forever be inextricably associated with Tiffani Amber Thiessen as Valerie Malone in season 5 of Beverly Hills 90210 after it featured on the promo announcing her arrival.

Val entered 90210 after Aaron Spelling fired Shannen Doherty for erroneously believing she was the star of the show. Co-incidentally Brenda moved to London at the same time her best friend from Minnesota’s father killed himself. Valerie’s mother distraught after her bereavement took the logical step of sending her daughter to live in Brenda’s vacant room.

This was a lucky co-incidence because the show needed another girl with brown hair to balance things out. And boy did she stir up the shit. Basically she set about screwing every guy on the show, including Brandon who slept but one adjoining bathroom away and was supposed to be like a brother to her! So hot.

Of course every chick on the show was jealous of her especially my beloved bitch face Kelly. It was by far the best of the ten seasons, with Val eclipsing her both predecessor Brenda and her brown haired successor Gina played by ex figure skater Vanessa Marcil.

The season is also notable for the introduction of Kathleen Robertson as the Dean’s daughter Claire Arnold, who broke with Hollywood stereotypes by being both an academic genius and sexy teen hellbent on having a fun time. Fuck I miss the nineties.
